The Pacific Film Group is an independent film production company headed by business partners Gregg Cassity and James Hawkins.
The company was founded on these three basic principles. That all great film is communicating the story by means of the cameras lens. Simply stated all great films are telling their story visually. The dialogue and scoring on films is there only to clarify any ambiguities that may arise from the visual content or lack of visual content. And that the choice of scoring lends to the film but certainly cannot be counted on to carry the film.
The scoring of a film is done to enhance the visual effects through our deeply ingrained and trained associations of sounds and melodies. For example, you hear the musical sounds associated with an ice cream truck. Though one has not seen the truck, there is a good chance you have already made up your mind as to what you want to eat. The second principle is that all great films flow like a river. This means that the story both visually and orally is easy to follow and does not drag. If a story gets to hard to follow, starts to drag or gets boring. The overall entertainment value is lessened. And after all is said and done. The reason the audience is there in the first place is to be entertained. The audience comes to the theater to be ENTERTAINED. No audience wants to have to work while in the theater. They don’t want to have to stretch to far to see the points of the film.
The third principle, the principle that we feel is the most important is this. The films that are box office hits. The films that go down in history as the greats have one thing in common above all other similarities. That being, they were produced as Family Films.
We at Pacific Film Group take great pride in the fact that: All of our films are based on true to life material and are films that the entire family can come and enjoy. We at the Pacific Film Group create FAMILY FILMS.
